An informative virtual walk telling the story of the ancient route from Wakefield to Halifax, the only easy way out of Halifax to the east for centuries. There are still traces of the medieval hollow way, or packhorse track, and the steep rugged route incorporates sections regularly used by Anne Lister, passing over the site of the Walker Pit galleries. Starting at the Hipperholme end, and including the tale of the obnoxious man illegally buried in his own field, this presentation ‘walks us’ right into the heart of old Halifax.
