Sundog (n.): also known as a parhelion or mock sun, is a natural phenomenon which causes a bright spot of light to appear on either side of the sun.
Shivelight (n.): a word coined by the poet Gerard Manley Hopkins to describe the shafts of sunlight that pierce or filter through a forest canopy. Both things only occur when there is sunshine.
